What Became of Oren Alexander and Alon Alexander

The Grand Lexington yearly Gala at the beautiful Capitale event space was a night not to be forgotten. The event was filled with the "whose who" of New York City Real estate, from Commercial real estate owners to residential developers. The host for the evening was the eccentric Mike Williams who got the crowd raging. Guest dined on a superb array of seafood provided by Dan Fishers of Montauk. The Jay Street band had the crowd dancing till the early morning. The climax of the evening was when David Stern- President of The Grand Lexington Charity announced the 2011 Philanthropist of the year award. This year’s award was given to Alon and Oren Alexander.

One might ask who these lovable young men are. As we learned from their great acceptance speech, which captivated the audience, these brother’s (actually twins) are truly a blessing to the community. They were born and raised in Miami Beach to a charitable Jewish family whose strong commitment to the community has left a lasting legacy in a humble way. Orly and Shlomi Alexander have instilled these values to their children beginning at a early age and were in attendance that evening to see the results. As mentioned by Oren on where the inspiration to give back comes from, he said that their parents instilled the importance of Tzdeka (Hebrew word from the Torah which means charity).

They decided from a young age that giving back to their community is and will be a major part of their lives. During their first year of High School they started the Alon and Oren Alexander Foundation, which raises money for inner city youth education. They have used their many business connections to help with the growth of this charity to make it what it is today. Today the Oren and Alon Alexander Foundation is responsible for sending over a 1000 kids from Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens to College. There involvement in the foundation is extensive. Oren Alexander confirms the twins dedicate at least 20 hrs a week overseeing the direction of the foundation and pledge even more time tutoring inner city youth.

The award ceremony climaxed after the distinguished crowd gave both Oren and Alon a long standing ovation to praise their efforts of improving the community.
